Welcome to SpotSaver. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
To provide the core functionality of a parking assistant, we request access to the following:
- Location Data: We collect your precise GPS coordinates (Fine Location) only when you tap “Save GPS Spot.” This data is stored locally on your device in private storage to help you navigate back to your vehicle. We do not transmit this data to any external servers.
- Camera & Images: We request access to your Camera to allow you to take a photo of your parking surroundings. These images are kept on your device and are used only for visual reference within the app.
- Storage Data: We use SharedPreferences to store your last saved coordinates so the app remembers your car’s location even after it is closed.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data solely for the following purposes:
- To mark your vehicle’s location on a map.
- To provide walking directions via Google Maps.
- To trigger a local notification when your parking timer expires.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services
- Google Maps: When you tap “Find My Car,” we pass your saved coordinates to the Google Maps app to provide navigation. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy for how they handle location data.
- Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. All parking data remains on your physical device.
5. Data Retention
Your location data is overwritten every time you save a new spot. You can clear all stored data by using the “Exit” or “Clear” features within the app, or by clearing the app’s cache in your Android settings.
6. Permissions
The app requires the following permissions to function:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: To find your car.CAMERA: To take a reference photo.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: To alert you when time is up.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: To ensure the timer is accurate.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our app does not collect any personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
