This Privacy Policy describes how the Tuition Manager mobile application (“the App”, “we”, “our”) handles information. Tuition Manager is developed and provided by DBCWebsolutions (“we”, “us”) for use by tutors and educational institutes to manage students, courses, batches, and fee records.
1. No Online Database — All Data Stays on Your Device
Tuition Manager does not use any cloud server, remote database, or third-party backend. All information you enter into the app — including student details, course and batch information, and fee payment records — is stored locally on your device only, using an on-device SQLite database. We do not have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to us or to any server operated by us.
2. Information Collected and How It Is Used
The App allows the user (the tutor/institute administrator) to manually enter and store:
- Student name, phone number, WhatsApp number, class/grade, and address
- Course and batch details, including schedules and timings
- Fee amounts, payment status, and payment history
This information is used solely to help the tutor manage students and fee records within the app, and to generate fee reminder messages sent by the tutor to students/guardians. This data is entered and controlled entirely by the app’s user (the tutor) and is not collected by us.
3. Permissions Used by the App
- SEND_SMS: Used only when the tutor taps “Send SMS Reminder” for a specific student, to send a fee reminder text message directly from the tutor’s device. No messages are sent automatically or without the tutor’s explicit action.
- INTERNET: Used only to open WhatsApp (via a standard “wa.me” link) with a pre-filled fee reminder message, when the tutor taps “Send WhatsApp Reminder.” The message is sent through the WhatsApp app itself, subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy — we do not process or store this communication.
- CALL_PHONE: Used only if the tutor chooses to call a student/guardian directly from within the app.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties. We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any third-party tracking tools in this app. No data collected or entered in the app is transmitted off the device, except:
- SMS messages sent via your device’s standard SMS/telecom service when you choose to send a reminder
- WhatsApp messages sent via the WhatsApp application when you choose to send a reminder
5. Data Storage and Security
All app data is stored in a local database on your device, protected by your device’s own operating system security and lock screen. If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted. We recommend keeping your device secured with a PIN, password, or biometric lock, since the app itself does not add an additional password layer.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed, or until you delete individual student/course/batch/fee records within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all associated data immediately, as no copy is kept anywhere else.
7. Children’s Privacy
Tuition Manager is intended for use by adult tutors and educational institute staff to manage their own student records. While student information (which may relate to minors) can be entered into the app, this information is provided and controlled solely by the tutor/institute using the app, is stored only on that person’s device, and is never collected or accessed by us.
8. Your Choices
Since all data resides on your device, you are always in control. You may edit or delete any student, course, batch, or fee record directly within the app, or remove all data at once by uninstalling the app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
